‖n. pl. [ NL., fr. Gr. &unr_; &unr_; with two breathing apertures; di- = di`s- twice + &unr_; breath. ] (Zool.) A group of ganoid fishes, including the living genera Ceratodus and Lepidosiren, which present the closest approximation to the Amphibia.
