แถบบันทึกเสียง (Tape recording), Example: แถบบันทึกเสียง หมายถึงวัสดุที่แบนยาวเคลือบด้วยสารแม่เหล็กใช้บันทึกสัญญาณเสียง เป็นวัสดุที่นิยมใช้ในการบันทึกเรื่องราวเหตุการณ์ต่างๆ บันทึก เสียงได้ทั้งสองแถบและสามารถลบเสียงเดิมออกแล้วบันทึกเสียงใหม่ได้ ต่างจากแผ่นเสียงที่เมื่อบันทึกเสียงลงไปแล้วจะคงอยู่ตลอด ไปจนกว่าแผ่นเสียงจะสึกหรอหรือแตกหัก เทปบันทึกเสียง มี 3 ลักษณะ ได้แก่ 1.เทปม้วน (tape open reel-to reel) 2.เทปตลับแบบคาสเซท (tape cassette) 3.เทปตลับแบบ cartridge (tape cartridge) การจัดเก็บเทปบันทึกเสียง จะจัดเก็บไว้ในกล่อง เรียงตามลำดับเลขทะเบียนหรือหัวเรื่องที่กล่องเทปและที่วงของเทปมีป้ายระบุรายละเอียดไดว้คือ ผู้ผลิต ชื่อเรื่อง สถานที่ วัน เดือน ปี หมายเลขจำนวนระยะเวลาที่เล่น และอัตราความเร็ว บรรณานุกรม : พิมลพรรณ ประเสริฐวงษ์ เรพเพอร์, การใช้ห้องสมุด กรุงเทพฯ : สำนักพิมพ์มหาวิทยาลัยรามคำแหง, 2542 [บรรณารักษ์และสารสนเทศศาสตร์]
