Imbecile

a. [ L. imbecillis, and imbecillus; of unknown origin: cf. F. imbécile. ] Destitute of strength, whether of body or mind; feeble; impotent; esp., mentally wea; feeble-minded; as, hospitals for the imbecile and insane.
