Malachite | n. [ Fr. Gr. mala`chh a mallow, from its resembling the green color of the leaf of mallows: cf. F. malachite. Cf. Mallow. ] (Min.) Native hydrous carbonate of copper, usually occurring in green mammillary masses with concentric fibrous structure.
