n. [ AS. hagaþorn, hægþorn. See Haw a hedge, and Thorn. ] (Bot.) A thorny shrub or tree (the Crataegus oxyacantha), having deeply lobed, shining leaves, small, roselike, fragrant flowers, and a fruit called haw.
