Coniferous Forestป่าพรุหรือป่าบึงน้ำจืด , ป่าสน, Example: ป่าไม้ผลัดใบประเภทหนึ่ง ซึ่งพบกระจายเป็นหย่อมๆ ตามภาคเหนือและภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ มีอยู่ตามเขาและที่ราบบางแห่งที่สูงจากระดับน้ำทะเล ตั้งแต่ 200 เมตร ขึ้นไป บางครั้งพบปะปนอยู่กับป่าแดงและป่าดิบเขา ป่าสนโดยทั่วไปมีลักษณะเป็นป่าโปร่ง ไม่แน่นทึบเท่ากับป่าไม้ผลัดใบอื่นๆ มักจะขึ้นได้ดีในดินที่ไม่ค่อยอุดมสมบูรณ์ มีความเป็นกรดสูง เมื่อใบสนร่วงลงมาทับถมกันที่พื้นดิน ลูกไม้อื่นที่ร่วงลงมาไม่สามารถงอกได้ แต่ลูกสนจะสามารถแทรกลงสู่ดินจนงอกรากได้ ป่าสนจึงมักจะมีแต่ไม้สนล้วนๆ ในประเทสไทยมีสนเขาเพียง 2 ชนิดเท่านั้น คือ สนสองใบ และสนสามใบ สำหรับไม้พื้นล่างที่พบจะเป็นพวกหญ้าต่างๆ ซึ่งเป็นสาเหตุให้เกิดไฟไหม้อยู่เสมอ แลพน้ำมันจากเนื้อไม้สนก็เป็นเชื้อเพลิงอย่างดี ดังนั้นป่าชนิดนี้จึงต้องมีการป้องกันไฟอย่างรัดกุมและเข้มงวด [สิ่งแวดล้อม]
